WoW-Informer

WoW-Informer is a community gaming news forum that I created in 2009. It was my first attempt at creating a website based on the popularity of World of Warcraft at the time. The website was created using Simple Machines Forums or SMF, which is an open-source forum software.

The goal of the forum was to crowdsource high-quality gaming news articles related to World of Warcraft, post them to the front page, and add filters to allow users to see as much or as little news information as they wish. I modified the software to create categories for each post and added check boxes at the top of the page so users could limit their choices to News, Strategies, or Information articles. Ultimately, I decided to move on from the project to create one of my most successful projects, GearScores.com.
